All institutions applying for affiliation with the Central Board of Open Schooling and Examination (CBOSE) are required to possess valid U-DISE and/or AISHE Codes, as applicable.
The U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education) Code is a unique identification number issued to school-level institutions, while the AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education) Code is allotted to higher education institutions by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
These codes are essential for institutional identification, data accuracy, transparency, and alignment with national education databases. As part of its affiliation process, CBOSE mandates the submission of the relevant and valid U-DISE or AISHE Code.
Institutions that already hold any form of government recognition, registration, or approval from competent authorities may benefit from a comparatively smoother and faster affiliation process, subject to verification of documents and compliance with CBOSE norms.
Applications submitted without the applicable U-DISE or AISHE Code may be treated as incomplete and may not be considered for further processing. Institutions are advised to ensure that their institutional data is correctly registered and updated on the respective government portals prior to applying for CBOSE affiliation.
