PM Modi says NDA committed to inclusive growth across all regions of
Assam: Narendra Modi made it clear on Monday that the development of each and every district and region of Assam holds high significance for his party Bharatiya Janata Party and National Democratic Alliance. Addressing the poll rally in Hojai, Assam, the Prime Minister said that balanced regional development is an important part of the vision of the government. Narendra Modi claimed that under the leadership of Indian National Congress, Assam did not witness any kind of development, and politics took precedence over governance in India. According to Modi, the situation of Assam at the time of the arrival of his government in power was not good at all. Talking about some accomplishments, he highlighted the changes in power sector in which he said that once upon a time Assam depended on other states for power generation, but today it serves as a role model for power production. Modi further stated that sufficient availability of power becomes very important for industrial development because power production leads to investment, setting up of industries and ultimately creates job opportunities for young people.
Speaking about upcoming industrial projects, the prime minister mentioned the proposed chip manufacturing unit in Morigaon, saying that manufacturing chips in the plant would provide employment possibilities in various fields, such as electronics and electric vehicles. He further went on to say that industrialization taking place in the state would ensure that economic growth takes place and jobs are created. Speaking on a different occasion during the day in Barpeta, Modi was confident that the BJP would come back into power for the third time in Assam. Saying that the past decade had seen a lot of peace and prosperity in Assam, which is far away from what happened previously in the state, he explained that with improvement in infrastructure and connectivity, tourism industry in Assam is growing very well. Criticizing the Congress yet again, he said that the party does not have any development plans for Assam in the long term but is only looking out for short-term political gains. However, he assured that the BJP is working on the vision of having a Viksit Assam as part of a bigger plan of Viksit Bharat.
